Position Overview:

NEMM is currently hiring for a Marine Scientist, a hybrid shore-side/at-sea role supporting innovative fisheries research and monitoring projects based in New Bedford, MA.

This position combines dockside monitoring, electronic monitoring review, and hands-on scientific sampling, with opportunities for both shore-based and at-sea work. Dockside monitoring responsibilities include conducting hands-on biosampling and collecting weight data from commercial fishing vessels during offloads. The role also involves reviewing electronic monitoring footage to document catch composition and fishing activity, as well as assisting with biological data collection and species identification for fisheries monitoring programs.
